Ware started with just one change from Saturday’s line-up with Gucci Soulya-Osekanongo coming in to midfield at the expense of Max Granville.
After two close defeats that might have produced a draw or even two, hopes that Ware would find fortunes favour were dashed early on. Stotfold captain James Peters headed them ahead after 13 minutes with Henry Snee making it two on the half hour.
By then Josip Jevdic was off with a recurrence of his knee injury. He was replaced by Theo Ofori. He and Max Granville were the only two senior players available to come on. Two of the other names on the bench were window dressing, the players not being in attendance as they remain in recovery.
Recent feedback that Stotfold have changed to a more direct style of play with long balls for their wide men to chase was borne out by their third goal on 56 minutes. Henry Snee struck his second from Codi Spavins’ cross.
After a run of five consecutive away wins Ware have now gone five without a win and collected just one point. Saturday’s home game with Milton Keynes Irish is taking on significance with the need to halt the slide down the table.
