The match

This match presents Ware with the requirement to do a lot better than in the reverse fixture at Wodson park.  Little more than ten second half minutes saw us concede four goals against a young, fast and skilful side.  Ware are looking for pointers to show that they have left behind the dismal form that was sometimes apparent at the start of the season.

Form guide

A recent run of good results has lifted Lions to tenth in the table.  They are unbeaten in their last three home games with just one home defeat in their last five.

Ware have started to pull themselves together after a disappointing start to the season.  Their last three matches have seen solid, undefeated performances but they have injury problems that mean there’s not a lot of strength in depth.

Previous Meetings

This will be our fifth meeting after a Herts Senior Cup game and three league matches all in the space of three seasons.  Ware are 3-1 ahead in wins and 10-5 in goals but there’s that nagging feeling left over from this season’s 4-0 home defeat. Our ten goals have been spread between nine players with only Ike Okwusogu scoring twice, both in the 2024 senior cup game.

Commentary

Apparently Pete and Symon will not be walking to this game. Instead they’ll be broadcasting commentary from 7.40pm at https://90minuteslivefootball.mixlr.com/events/5404002

Match officials

The referee for this match is Matthew Rendell who has presumably made the step up to refereeing at Step 4 this season. Coincidentally he was one of the assistant referees for last season’s 3-0 win at Rowley Lane. Check out the penalty decision in that game. The assistant referees this time are Luke Malcahy and Gregg Hargrave.
