Our opponents
New to step 4 last season after running away with the Spartan South Midlands League title in 2024/5 they finished thirteenth out of twenty-two sides. A good start which they’ve built on early this season which finds them ninth. That said they are one of four sides to have played nine games compared to sides like Ware who have played just six.
Founded as recently as 2020 by the merger of three clubs they play at Manor Fields. This is a ground that until the emergence of MK Dons was the centre of football in the new town. Bletchley Town, MK City, MK Borough, a new MK City and MK Robins have all used it as their base.
Google directions from Ware can be found by clicking the link in the ground address above.
Form guide
Irish went out of the FA Cup in a replay and shoot out defeat to Slimbridge. They don’t appear to have entered the FA Trophy. Their nine league games have followed the pattern of WLDLWLDWL, the last having been a midweek reverse at runaway leaders Didcot Town.
Ware are now aiming to avoid a fourth consecutive league defeat and better still record their first win. Form is poor at the moment, just three draws from six games but the playing staff are capable of much better than that. We expect to see evidence on Saturday.
Previous Meetings
Just two previous meetings. Last season’s league games saw us record a double over the Irish. Most notable was the away game. We found ourselves 3-2 down and a man short at half time. At which point Paul Halsey arrived back from Indonesia and we turned the game round with two goals. I don’t know if that was a coincidence or not. Our scorers were Theo Ofori, Reece Beckles-Richards with his first for the club, Sam Mayuma and Caiden Remy-Dee. Reece scored another in the return game and Gucci Soulya two more as we won 3-0.
