Our opponents

Town were formed in 1994 out of the merger of Beaconsfield United and Slough Youth Club Old Boys, initially taking the name Beaconsfield Sycob.  They started life in the Spartan South Midlands League but progressed to the Southern League in 2004/5.  Apart from a season long dip back into Step 5 they’ve been there ever since.  Six years in the Premier Division ended in 2023/4 after which they joined our divsion where they finished eleventh, just one place behind us.

Form guide

Beaconsfield currently lie eighth in the table with four wins and four draws from ten games.  Their three league matches in October have gone without a win with just two draws to bring any points.  They have however claimed a 6-1 win over Step 6 Berks County FC in the Berks and Bucks Senior Cup suggesting that they will punish any weaknesses.  They’re scoring league goals at a rate of 1.6 a game with two of their 16 coming from former Hertford Towner Ade Gbolohan.

Ware are currently on a good run and will be looking for a sixth successive win.  The left back position is still missing two options through injury but George Alfieri has deputised successfully in the last two games and will presumably do so again.  With last season’s draw in mind Ware will be looking to the wide men to make a breakthrough and feed Reece Beckles-Richards in front of goal.

Previous Meetings

We’ve met just four times in the past, twice in our first ever period in the Southern League, a one season stop over in 2015/6 when they were operating under the Beaconsfield Sycob title.  We won the home meeting with the only goal of the game scored by Harley Haag in the 91st minute.  The return match was drawn 1-1 (Murat Karagul scoring for us) with Beaconsfield’s equaliser coming, would you believe it, in the 91st minute.

Last season we drew 1-1 again but at home. Our goal came from Jon Clements.  The away game, our last fixture of the regular season as will be the return game this season, was won 3-0.  Johnny Allotey twice and Gucci Soulya-Osekanongo were our scorers.

Youth Football

We have three home games for the Eastern Junior Alliance sides on Sunday.  Two of those are in fact in the age relevant Herts FA challenge cups with the under-14s meeting Cheshunt at 10am and the under-16s taking on St Albans City at midday.  Then at 2pm the under-15s meet Ryan FC in the league.  Entry is free and the club room and tea bar will be open throughout.
