Four second half goals were shared by the teams in this match of fourth from top versus fourth from bottom. Ware took the lead a minute after half time, Sam Mayuma getting his seventh goal of the season to cement his position as top scorer.
Keeping close watch behind him is Anthony Wordsworth whose 81st minute equaliser brought him to five goals this season. Sam Mayuma provided the assist for that making it a good night for the number eleven.
In between those goals Taylor Parr scored five minutes after Mayuma’s opener before Joe Iaciofano gave Royston the lead on 70 minutes.
Drama came with five minutes of normal time left when the home side were awarded a penalty. But the gods smiled on Ware as the spot kick was blazed over the bar. So, just one defeat in six games as Ware start to head in the right direction. On Saturday that direction is Bedford where we meet Biggleswade.
